About AURA
AURA Commercial Dance Company is its own specialist arm of South Coast Studios, with a focus on group performance, choreographic creativity, confidence-building and developing strong, independent dancers through Commercial Dance Training.
Mission
At AURA, we have curated a faculty of teachers with extensive experience across the professional dance industry, both as performers and choreographers.
Our teachers work closely with our young dancers to help them develop their individual style, creative voice and sense of self within the company. The aim is to nurture dancers who are technically strong, creatively confident and equipped to succeed in whichever path they choose.
All AURA dance companies are given as many performance opportunities as possible and are actively encouraged to create their own work, building confidence, autonomy and ownership over their artistry.
AURA Intermediates is for ages 9-12 and AURA Seniors is for ages 13+.

What is commercial dance?
Commercial Dance has become an increasingly important part of training within top dance institutions and the wider professional industry. Drawing from styles such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary and Street Dance, Commercial routines are high-energy, powerful and expressive. It is also a style that young people naturally connect with, as it is so present in everyday culture- from music videos and live performances to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and cheerleading.

At AURA, we are committed to keeping all choreography, music and styling age-appropriate, while still giving our dancers exciting, current and high-impact training.
